The Annapolis Neck Peninsula Federation
invites you to a Public Meeting
on the future of the Annapolis Peninsula.
THE FOREST DRIVE/EASTPORT SECTOR STUDY
Thursday, February 28, 2019, 7:00PM – 8:45PM
Eastport-Annapolis Neck Library, 269 Hillsmere Drive
The Annapolis Neck Peninsula Federation has invited planners from the City of Annapolis to present the Forest Drive/Eastport Sector Study. After introducing the public to the plan, a panel discussion will follow.
The Sector Study is a vision of the future of the peninsula, showing areas of potential development. City Council is reviewing the study and may vote whether to include it as part of the City’s 2009 Comprehensive Plan (ten year plan).
ANPF feels the Sector Study should not be approved and instead be used as the basis for preparing the City’s 2019 Comprehensive Plan. Our major objections are:
- Urbanization (4 to 8 story buildings with zero setback from road)
- Need for more extensive traffic impact analysis
- Lack of financial commitments for improvements to roadways, esp. at Chinquapin Round Rd. bottleneck
- No assessment of environmental impacts (forests, tree canopy, stormwater, etc.)
This event is open to the public and free.
Parking is available at the library.
